Handstand on the Beach

Welcome! I’m Dan, a dedicated yoga teacher with a deep love for sharing yoga and its benefits to as many people as I can. I completed my teacher training in 2023 in Thailand, an experience that profoundly shaped my approach to teaching.

Before becoming a instructor, I practiced yoga regularly for 4-5 years, continually seeking to deepen my knowledge and improve my own practice. In addition to teaching yoga, I also work in IT, balancing my technical career with my love for yoga.

What got me into yoga?

I discovered yoga while seeking relief for a shoulder injury. After finding an online video, I noticed it not only eased my shoulder pain but also proved quite relaxing. This initial experience sparked my interest, and I continued practicing online. Yoga quickly became a significant part of my life, helping to keep both my mind and body balanced.

During the pandemic, yoga served as the perfect escape, keeping me fit and occupied. After countless hours of online practice, I finally mustered the courage to attend an in-person class at a local gym. As I continued my practicing, I felt compelled to deepen my knowledge and share the transformative benefits I'd discovered. This led me to undertake teacher training, equipping me with the skills to guide others on their yoga journeys.

Is yoga for me?

  • Not at all! Yoga is for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. The power of yoga lies in its adaptability - poses can be modified to suit your individual needs and abilities. The key is to listen to your body and adjust the practice to fit you, not the other way around.

My aim is to make yoga accessible to all, especially those who might not have considered it before.

  • They might, but hey, laughter is good for you too! You can always keep it your little secret if you want - we won't tell.

Remember, while they're chuckling, you'll be zen-ing your way to flexibility fame. As your practice grows, you might even inspire them to join you!

  • No of course not.

Yoga benefits all, whether you're a spiritual guru or just someone trying to touch their toes without pulling a muscle. The only belief you need is that what you're doing might actually help. Think of it as a physical conspiracy theory - the more you believe, the truer it becomes!

  • Absolutely not!!!

Flexibility is a potential outcome of yoga, not a prerequisite. My goal is to help you improve your mind-body awareness through practice. We encourage you to listen to your body and work within your current range of motion. Remember, it's about how you feel in a pose, not how it looks.

  • Yes, breath is indeed a fundamental aspect of yoga. As predictable as it sounds, breath is the secret sauce of yoga (and life, for that matter). Developing awareness of your breath and learning to use it effectively is a powerful tool in yoga practice. It helps you stay present, manage stress, and deepen your mind-body connection. At Simply Yoga, we guide you in harnessing your breath to enhance both your yoga practice and overall well-being.
